
First clean the pommel well with solvent, acetone alcohol or something else that leaves the contact surface dry and not greasy.Continuous contact with the skin of the hands makes it very slippery; an unsuitable condition for locking a ball.Repeat the operation on the outer face of the 4 rubber pads of the instrument that will then contact the pommel.Place the instrument on top of the knob, making sure that the knob is in contact with the upper rubber pad inside the instrument.Tighten by acting symmetrically a little at a time on the 4 locking screws with 26 mm hexagon until they are a couple of millimeters from the stop on the body of the instrument. If this situation results in an abnormal movement of the instrument use the appropriate antagonist hexagon with a suitable fixed wrench diameter 32 mm.Check the tightening and the support of the grommets through the windows obtained from milled above the instrument.This was deliberately inclined with respect to the symmetry of the threaded holes, precisely to give way to be able to check the 4 the grommets at the time of locking. This is done by means of the gear selection pin that rests on a small plastic part of the support bezel.In some cases, in order not to compromise its integrity, it would be advisable to remove the lever complete with knob and cap and complete the disassembly operation fixing the lever directly in a vise.In the various cases we have had to operate, we have realized that not all knobs offer the same resistance.In addition, there are two types of plastic support castellums:one type that is very strong and able to withstand the antagonism of rotation.and another with a very small plastic wall. Here we did not trust and disassembled the complete lever.We also had the opportunity to see videos of people who, in order to remove the lever, disassemble the entire plastic cover that goes down to the tunnel.This operation is not necessary.It is sufficient to disassemble only the two upper parts, leaving everything else assembled.
