Suction Trumpets

Intake trumpets are easy to install in any type of filter box or where increased air flow is required. Example: a four-cylinder engine with 2000 cc displacement will have the unit displacement equal to 500 cc. The filter box will have to hold 500×19=9500 cc equal to 9.5 liters. The Trumpet does not in any way have the ability to increase the volumetrics of the box, but it does allow it to keep from depressurizing when the engine reaches maximum intake, providing an additional intake port. Would it be sufficient to drill a hole in the box without installing a trumpet? This would be feasible, but a 50-mm hole would behave (because of the turbulence created) like a 20-millimeter hole by letting air in in a chaotic and swirling manner thus going to worsen, not improve engine breathing. The Intake Trumpet has the following standard measurements: height 65 mm cm box side hole 42 mm inner hole 40 mm.
