New ACTSWITCH Valve with Remote Control

After attending several Abarth rallies and having the opportunity to speak with many owners, I became aware of a minor inconvenience that I imagined existed, but did not think was so widespread.

Many enthusiasts complimented our products and the innovative solutions we offer. However, the same observation always emerged: to change the position of our Switch valve, it was necessary to perform a procedure that was anything but practical.

The sequence was as follows: stop the car, get out, open the hood, manually operate the valve control to set it to the desired position, close the hood, and return to driving. All of this had to be repeated every time you wanted to change the valve configuration.

There is another aspect not to be underestimated: it is not always appropriate to perform this operation in public, especially when the characteristic “puff” of the exhaust could attract unwanted attention or give rise to unwelcome inspections.

From these considerations came the idea to develop a new version of the Switch valve, fully controllable from the cabin under any driving condition.

Perhaps saying that the project was born “in an instant” is an exaggeration, but the decision to implement it was immediate.

What the New ACTSWITCH Remote Offers

All the features that made the previous E-Switch version successful remain unchanged.

Installation continues to be simple and discreet:

• the valve is installed in the same position as the original;
• the connection to the original system remains unchanged;
• it is sufficient to connect the two power cables (red and black) to the positive and negative terminals of the battery respectively.

Management is performed via a dedicated coded-frequency remote control. Each valve has its own exclusive remote control.

Remote Control Operation

The remote control is equipped with two buttons:

UP Press and hold (approximately 3 seconds): complete valve opening, to obtain maximum sound and maximum exhaust flow.

DOWN Press and hold (approximately 3 seconds): complete valve closure, for a quieter and more discreet driving mode.

Additionally, by using the UP or DOWN buttons with short successive presses, it is possible to position the valve at any intermediate point between fully open and fully closed.

This adjustment allows each driver to find the ideal compromise between comfort and sound, customizing the exhaust behavior according to personal preferences and different usage situations.

Always bearing in mind that partially restricting the air outlet to reduce sound does not mean choking its exit.
Rather, it means deciding how much air will exit creating sound.
While the remaining air will be recirculated and returned as originally to the turbo intake.
