The desire to produce this new product presented us with no small design and production challenges and obstacles.
Certainly because we forced ourselves to comply with some basic characteristics.
These difficulties stimulated us to have to continue.
The characteristics to be respected were, indeed are, very simple.
Most important the desire to respect the shape and dimensions of all visible and non-visible parts.
Absolutely forbidden to have to make inappropriate changes to the original parts in order to apply it.

This stand is machined all from solid. Not like many other models that flaunt that feature, then include in the mounting kit the rear shim washer, to bring the backing plate into contact, on the original backing plate ,which is undercut by the other three anchor points.

In our system, the washer is machined from solid by milling the other parts, so that it can spring by difference the thickness necessary to bring the assembly and support of the entire system level In order to avoid changes to the external aesthetic parts, we had to move the center of the lever to the right by 1.2 cm. This results in a very slight offset of the lever.

The owner of an Abarth ( like others for that matter ) does not want to ” ruin ” or ” distort ” the forms of his little jewel.( Even if some people give little importance to the details ) We have seen cases in which in order to have to mount the reduced-stroke gear lever caster, the cabinet underneath had to be cut to avoid interference with the travel of the joints that connect the ropes to the lever.

Other situations where you have to eliminate the top with the whole leather headset by giving a simple cover guard; taking away in addition to originality the look, and the sense of warmth that leather gives.
Not to go into detail, of the various case histories, we wanted a product that would shorten the front and side clutch strokes, without having to change anything of the original aesthetics.
We succeeded.
The result: definitely positive!

Running of the forward-backward stroke:
In position number 1 = 7.9 cm
In position number 2 = 6.2 cm
the lateral stroke = cm 5

Lower cabinet, cover, leather cover cap ,knob and everything else will remain original without any modification to be made. ( if you see fit )
Assembly exactly as the original, so even the joints connecting the ropes and the bezel will always remain the original ones, which in our opinion compared to other choices ( uniballs,jointed heads etc. that require lubrication, otherwise premature wear ) turn out to be the most appropriate.

No maintenance and limited play over time as well.

All lever movements to perform engagements are provided by a large aluminum ball and enclosed between two half-shells made of special self-lubricating thermoplastic,which wraps the ball 360 degrees,preventing it from backlash in all directions.

Replacing the new bezel with the original bezel is completely reversible and leaves no trace.Returning to the original situation is always possible.
In conclusion, you will have well understood that we are not talking about the classic gadget or spare part that once applied after a few days we forget it.
We are talking about a product that will give you different and more satisfying driving sensations.
Very fast and precise couplings will always be there to remind you of the excellent purchase you have made.
